DIGITAL ARTS, FILM & TELEVISION (DAFT) is a non-profit educational organization that has been providing services to its members and the state of Michigan since 1969.

Our primary mission is to promote media literacy through the creative use of film and video. DAFT does this by conducting workshops and conferences for teachers, and media professionals.

We provide support for emerging media artists and actively develop student involvement in media arts and studies through our annual statewide festival, scholarships and special workshops.

DAFT's work in the media arts depends on the efforts of volunteers and the financial support of our membership and the business community. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.

Alpha Omega Animation Design is an exciting new creative venture into the realm of entertainment design and animation..

Alpha Omega specializes in Traditional Animation, 3d Animation, Flash, After Effects, storyboards and concept creation and design for film, television, commercials, internet, toys, gaming and more. The Alpha Omega team strives to provide high quality professional service bolstered by a fierce dedication to integrity and the creation of meaningful, adventuerous, original content.

Pecha Kucha (peh chak' cha) is Japanese for "chit-chat".  In this new context, Pecha Kucha is a patented process that limits (powerpoint-like) presentations to 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each!  That gives the speaker exactly 6 minutes 40 seconds to make his point. This keeps presentations concise (how wonderful!) and the interest level up.

Since its inception in 2003 by Tokyo architect partners Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham, Pecha Kucha has gone viral, spreading throughout the world without any real pushing.  It has found a niche with designers and other creatives, as a way to easily and informally show creative work and ideas, without having to rent a gallery or chat up a magazine editor.  Pecha Kucha Nights are now happening in over 80 cities across the world.

The mission of the Michigan Production Alliance is to provide cohesiveness to the community, through communications, continuing education and political awareness. As well as to offer leadership in the development of incentives and a more stable financial environment for Michigan film and video production companies, freelancers and support services.

The Area is Autodesk's powerful user base forum, featuring showcases, news, tips, tutorials, blogs and more. 

Michigan Filmmakers are challenged to create cool shorts and compete for the entry fees!

All proceeds will be split between the TOP 3 selected films!  And all entries will be shown on the big screen, encouraging filmmakers to come together, network, collaborate and strengthen Michigan's Film community!
